MORE ABOUT LUAU KALAMAKU

Luau Kalamaku is located on the historic 104-acre Kilohana Plantation. Before luau festivities kick off, guests are encouraged to arrive early and explore the plantation grounds and its Hawaii flora, on-site artisan market, or climb aboard Kilohana Plantation’s 2.5-mile railway line. The celebration begins with a traditional imu unveiling ceremony, followed by a succulent Hawaiian buffet, where locally-loved dishes like poi, kalua pork, teriyaki chicken, and fresh fish make appearances.

Fire and folklore are focal points during this dynamic show. Pyrotechnics, eye-catching costumes, and Pacific cultural dances are knit into the luau’s heartfelt storyline— which chronicles the first Hawaiian people’s migration to the islands.

What's the different between Luau Kalamaku Hawaiian Package and the Manor House Experience & Luau Package?

Great fire dancing!

Didn’t expect to get so into a luau, but here we are. The show was awesome, especially the fire dancers (seriously, how do they not burn themselves??). The history and storytelling part was way cooler than I thought it would be. The food was good, but I wasn’t a fan of the poi—guess it's an acquired taste!

fun time

If you only do one luau in Kauai, this should be it. We loved the set up in a big circle around the stage so everyone had a great view. The Kilohana Plantation was a gorgeous setting, and getting to see the imu (underground oven) was a cool touch. Only downside—wish I had room for more dessert!

Great night!

Luau Kalamaku was super fun from start to finish. The dancers were amazing, the fire show was insane, and the whole story they told with the performance was actually really cool. The buffet was huge, but I think I went a little too hard on the poke and kalua pork because I was stuffed before dessert. Would do it again in a heartbeat!

Different and fun!

Something different from the usual hotel luaus. The plantation setting gives it a more authentic feel, and at $171, it's better value than many others. Kids loved the train ride (extra cost but worth it).

If you're staying in Poipu, they offer transport for an extra fee which saves dealing with driving back in the dark.

Loved the Train

What a unique setting for a luau! Arrived early to explore the 104-acre Kilohana Plantation - don't skip this part. Took the railway tour before the luau started which really helped set the historical mood. The show itself tells the actual story of Hawaiian migration rather than just performing random dances, and those fire dancers with the pyrotechnics were next level. Not your typical beachfront luau, but that's what made it special. Food was solid - the kalua pork was some of the best we've had. Don't forget to hit the artisan market before the show, some really unique local crafts.
